Team USA – UNACCEPTABLE GENTLEMEN!

By Peter & Chris Ferraro | 5/14/2010

Team USA has to get their asses in gear at the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championships in Germany. With a 0-3 record and an underachieving USA team, they need to finish strong. They have been demoted to the Relegation Round to face Kazakhstan, France, and Italy. Not exactly hockey powerhouses based on history, but some unexpected events have already occurred so far in this tournament for Team USA. They have to win the next 3 games and not finish 3rd or 4th, or they will be sent to Division I in next years World Championships. Team USA will then have to win their way to the top division and regain their status of being amongst teams such as Sweden, Finland, Canada, and Russia. Not a position they want to be in! We can relate to this because the last time Team USA was faced with this challenge was in 2003 in Finland. Chris and I were a part of that team and we won 3 straight against Belarus, Slovenia, and Japan. Now that Team USA’s backs are against the wall, they have to regroup and do what it takes to win these next 3 games. They have enough leadership, experience and talent to make our country proud. Anything less would be a complete disappointment. It’s going to come down to passion, determination, and character. We love our fellow American colleagues and will be cheering them on. Wake up boys and let’s go!
