NHL Playoffs – 2010 Stanley Cup Finals Game 1
Flyers 5 – 6 Blackhawks
Tonight was a scoring display in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals. Both goaltenders were tested, and Leighton was replaced by Boucher after giving up his fifth goal on 20 shots. Boucher allowed the GWG by Kopecky, who has been a healthy scratch for 5 games. Overall, it was a fun and exciting game to watch with a lot of emotion and offense. The Hawks never got fatigued as the game went on. In fact, they got stronger. The Flyers were dying out and could not keep up with Chicago’s young legs. The entire 3rd period, the Hawks turned it up a notch and never slowed down their pace. Philly was hanging on and hoping to tie it to force OT, but that never happened. Although we didn’t see Niemi’s best game, he played very well in the 3rd period to protect the Hawk’s victory. Game 2 should be just as exciting!
