Ferraro Brothers recap 2010 NHL Conference Finals Game 4

By Peter & Chris Ferraro | 5/25/10

NHL Playoffs Conference Finals – Game 4

Flyers 3 – 0 Canadiens
The Philadelphia Flyers keep making history! This time it was Leightons turn. He is the first goaltender in Flyers history to record 3 shutouts in a playoff series. The Flyers took charge in this game and were very tight defensively. They only allowed 17 shots on net, and most impressively, 1 shot in the 2nd period. Giroux scored twice for Philly and Leino added one as well. Montreal couldn’t generate anything offensively. They were a different team than they were in game 3 of this series. Down 3-1 and heading back to Philadelphia, don’t expect this series to go more than 6 games.

Sharks 2 – 4 Blackhawks
an Jose and Joe Thornton are a major disappointment. This team is supposed to be led by Joe Thornton and he cannot get it done. Sure he’s a great player and has proven that, but he’s not the Franchise player everyone expected. He won a Gold medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics, but he was not a major factor for Team Canada. He was in the right place at the right time. I (Peter), played with Joe in Boston and he was the nicest guy in the world along with being a great hockey player. When he decides to take his “mild mannered” personality to the next level and play like he’s 6′4″ 235 lbs, he’s unstoppable! Enough about Big Joe…..Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks for advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in 18 years and sweeping the San Jose Sharks in the semifinal round of the playoffs. Couture and Marleau made it 2-0 for a period and a half, until Seabrook scored to make it 2-1. Late in the 2nd period, Bolland scored to tie the game at 2. This was the momentum builder for Chicago and it led to Byfuglien’s GW and Versteeg’s empty net insurance goal. The Hawks await their next opponent, which will be the Philadelphia Flyers for the Stanley Cup Finals!
