NHL Playoffs Conference Finals – Game 3
Flyers 1 – 5 Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens played with a lot of courage tonight. They did not back down from the Philadelphia Flyers and they set the pace of the game. The Flyers have a tendency to play dirty and feisty when things do not go their way, attempting to send a message. This did not phase the Habs! Halak is back on track with his excellent performance and Cammelleri found his scoring touch by recording the first goal of the game. The Flyers were sloppy and had trouble executing their game plan. Gagne scored the lone goal for the Flyers, while Pronger was a minus 3 on the night. The Canadiens deserved this win tonight by dominating every part of the game.
Sharks 2 – 3 Blackhawks (OT)
The San Jose Sharks outshot the Hawks by a descent margin, but Niemi was extremely solid in net. Byfuglien may have been the OT Hero, but Niemi was the Unsung Hero in this game! Marleau kicked off the game with the first goal on the PP. Later Sharp responded with a PP goal of his own. The game was tied at 1 until Bollands goal in the 3rd to make it 2-1. Soon after, Marleau notched his 2nd goal late in the game to force OT. Byfuglien scored to GW in OT in the first period of OT to advance to a 3-0 lead in the series.
