Ferraro Brothers recap 2010 NHL Conference Finals Game 2

By Peter & Chris Ferraro | 5/18/10

NHL Playoffs Conference Finals – Game 2

Flyers 3 – 0 Canadiens
The Philadelphia Flyers keep rolling along! A combination of a perfect record and a hot goaltender, has been the story in this series so far. The Montreal Canadiens are getting their chances, but cannot execute. Leighton’s shutout performances in the first 2 games are making it difficult for the Habs. Montreal has to improve on their Special Teams. Philly received scoring production from Briere, Gagne, and Leino. With a 2-0 series lead for the Flyers, the next 2 games are in Montreal and the Habs will need to find a way back into this series or it will be over soon.

Blackhawks 4 – 2 Sharks
The Sharks are back to their old ways. No passion or commitment! They have trouble finding ways to play with leadership and consistency. We are tough on San Jose because there is no reason they should not win the Stanley Cup. We don’t think they deserve it, but with their line up and experience, they should atleast show consistency. They are getting outplayed and outchanced by a much younger team. It’s not only coaching, it’s team leadership. Toews is proving to be a better, more determined leader than the underachieving Thornton. Niemi has been great for Chicago and the team has been remarkable on the road with 7 straight wins. The Hawks  goal scoring came from Ladd, Byfuglien, Toews, and Brouwer. They are creating traffic in front of Nabakov and have been a dominating presence in front of San Jose’s net. Marleau scored twice for the Sharks, but there goals are from the perimeter. They need to get there big bodies in front of Niemi and battle for garbage goals. They have to “want” to pay the price or the young, talented Blackhawks will continue to embarrass the Sharks.
